Hey would love to meet people who are undergoing surgeryor have under gone surgery at the same hospital as me? Would love to know about your experiences as such xxxx

I'm under Luton & dunstable just been referred for surgery see doctor Friday now waiting for MDT appointment, what stage are you at? X

I am an L&D girl - cant fault them

I have mixed reviews I loved seeing Louise the dietician before she left but I don't get on greatly with the male one. But I really like all the nurses and the doctor last month was lovely. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the L&D team xx

I refuse to see Tom as he is rubbish. Heather is amazing so if you can get appts with her I would totally recommend it.

I also saw your weight loss journey you have done incredibly I'm hoping I can manage to do as well. Inspirational well done xx

Thank you :) It is not easy, but has been an incredible journey :)

Oh I'm not the only one then that makes me feel better I was at L&D in October and was speaking to a lady who wasn't every impressed by him either. I feel very unmotivated by him like he cannot be bothered give me a sheet and says follow that bye! If you don't mind me asking what procedure did you have? How long have you had it for? Was it extremely painful? What was the hardest part xxx

No, pretty much anyone I've spoken to isn't impressed with Tom. I complained though so I now never have to see him :D He just gives off a cba attitude - it really is just a day job for him.

I had the RNY gastric bypass. I am now 2 and a half years out. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable really - gas pain mostly. My worry was coming out the other side, but they are so very skilled at luton. My surgeon was Mr Whitelaw who is just amazing. There are two really difficult bits - the first is liquids and sticking to it, and the emotional low after the op. THe second is actually at about 2 years out where losses are much slower and you have to work much harder to keep losing.

Yep that's the same way I feel, I was seeing Louise last year but she moved on to mental health :-( she was great xx

Oh that's good I was looking at the bypass but I'm thinking maybe the sleeve? I think I'll be ok with the fluids as I did Cambridge for a few months and that wasn't too bad.

I'm just looking forward to dropping enough to hit the gym. I used to be a size 14 but I used to work out at the gym 6 days a week but I put on 9 stone between having my children :-(.
I'm so hoping I'm accepted for surgery the more I read here the more I learn but I also get so confused :-s xx

thank you xx

There is a lot of information out there, and the reality of surgery is difficult to understand until you're out the other side. Its a bit like first time parents bringing a baby home - baby blues and all!

Actually, its really hard to get comfy, and because you're exhausted from the anaesthetic, your nights aren't sleepless but you're exhausted anyway lol. Luton don't do one thankfully :D

Oh really that's good! I been reading loads about them and thought it was funny I hadn't heard about it yet. I'm soooo excited xxx

I've been wanting surgery for 8 years but was always fobbed off. Even if it's another year if be happy just looking forward to seeing the finish line xx

Hi I am under the L&D, I finished their 3 in October, saw a medical Dr two weeks ago and am awaiting my triple appointment.

From the day I saw my GP it took just over a year, but my gp was v supportive. And I met the criteria fairly easily.
