Im glad to have moved on to my 2nd phase and said goodbye to the blender! Had an oatcake with reduced fat houmous yesterday. Had 2/3 of it and felt mega full! Was so nice to have texture and I found it easier to recognise the full feeling with something more solid.
Onwards! :)

Ah, texture! Bet that was bliss :)

Yes and lots of chewing! It's kinda easier to know when you've chewed something a bit harder to a pulp, if that makes sense?!

Mmmmmm, I can still remember my mouthful of cheese and cream cracker. Bliss!!!!

I remember really looking forward to purée stage post op. I was disappointed though as the look and texture of puréed anything just turned me sick lol. I was however, really glad to start soft food. It was nice to chew something lol :)

Absolutely. Purées made me very nauseous too. I had a tiny bit of toast today. Full very very quickly!

Just tread careful toast is not soft food really also it blows up once inside, you would be better off having something more valuable to ya body protein wise. WE were advised that bread was one of the very last things to try, because it can get stuck even when chewed it expands in the pouch. To keep the weight loss moving try and keep on with the high protein and fruit n veg yes some carbs but keep them low. YOur body needs to get as much healthy input at the moment to aid the weight loss and recovery of your insides. You do not wish to burst your new pouch, it will still be healing. You can eat lots more now but there will be plenty of time for bread past a and rice in a month or 2. You will probably find that drier food will be better at the moment, If you want bread try a wrap, or pitta bread but you are better off trying whole meal ones. You will find you will feel a lot fuller now that the food is bulkier. Your biggest weight loss period is in the 1st 6 months usually around a stone a month. After this it slows right down. We were advised to eat protein 1st then veg you will probably find you do not get to the carbs because you will be full. But you will some days be able to fit some carbs in, but is best to leave til last to make sure you get the best stuff in first. Meat should be cut up into pieces no bigger than a rubber on a pencil top then chewed and chewed. Even though I am 2 yrs 4 months post I still find that if I have a chicken breast fillet with veg By the time I am finished the chicken I struggle to eat the veg. The potatoi just gets wasted Still put it on though cos I think I want it, The head will play tricks on you and it does get to be a battle for some people at times. YOu will see what I mean as you get further out. Hope you don't think I am being awful just trying to give you some positive constructive criticism. Just ask if in doubt. xxx

Thanks. I'm just following what's in my book. It says weeks 4-8 you can try a bit of toast and some crackers. At the moment I can only eat about half a cracker and had 2 tiny bites of nimble toast. I'm just trying a few things to see what can be tolerated. I know I'll just be sick if I can't. I'm having low fat cheese spreads and scrambled egg also a glass of milk here and there. I know protein is important but just seeing what I can manage. Otherwise I'll get too scared to try anything new!
