Yes, my BMI was 65 and I only had to do 2 weeks. 4 weeks would be very hard. I had 1 cup-a-soup and 2 slices of toast on some days just to be able to cope with it and I still had a good pre op loss.
It's hard but try and stick with it
Luton and Dunstable make everyone go on a milk diet for 4 weeks to loose 5% to show willing and capability of surviving on a liquid diet.
Only then do they put you forward to meet the surgeon.
Then you have to do it 2 weeks before the op to shrink your liver.
I had a BMI of 39 at the start of my pre op. but had to do 4 weeks. Everybody at Heartlands does 2-6 weeks. But they tell most 4 weeks and some poor people do the six. Some who got cancelled have done the 6 weeks twice!!!
It is hard, but it's so important to stick to it. Those who cheat on the pre op and get away with it are just lucky. There are some who don't get away with it. So it's not worth it.
4 weeks is tough going but you can do it. I'm so lucky I only have to do 2 weeks, if it was 4 I think I'd struggle but only because it's sounds long in your head. Your body can do it. Keep at it x
