to me that to finish my t/tuck revisional surgery that i had to get my bmi from 32 to 28-29, its currently 28.9.
so do you guys think i should try and push a little more weight loss before i phone them, they didnt set me a time limit to meet this goal and said for me to contact them when i made it there, i didnt think it was possible to meet that target again after my re banding but its now happening.
should i phone them or wait a little while longer to ring them and go back on there waiting list?
i cant explain why but i feel a little reluctant to ring them, i could of had the revision surgery a year ago but because of the probs i was having with my 1st band i personally cancelled the revision surgery 3 times and 3 strikes ya out, now i feel ive met there requirements but im unsure wether to wait a little longer as i do not know if i can push my weight loss any further with this new band as its so much harder to loose the 2nd time around from a lower bmi.

Liz, I would tell ya to go with your gut, no pun intended. If you feel hesitant to call them don't do it yet. However, you could always try to continue your weight loss while you wait for your surgery. How long of a wait do you expect?

Nic;)

nic i would need an initial consultation app with the plastics team from phoning them, which would be approx a month from the phone call, then was approx 18 weeks from them looking at my skin state the last time. my heads baffeled right now im happy ive just made there requirements but i dont know why i feel reluctant as i need this done.

That is loads of time if you wanted to continue to try and drop more weight. You are averaging a good amount of loss so you could see some movement in that amount of time. But hun, if you aren't ready yet that is okay, like you said there was no time limit. So go with what feel right & make this one count. I know if you set your mind to it you can lose more so just set your goal and go for it.

You have got to be proud that you have really done it this time and gotten down below your target. GOOD FOR YOU!!

Hugs,
Nic;)

i need to push another 5llbs to get back to my lowest weight what i met with my 1st band which would take me nearer to the bmi of 28 and a weight of 12st 7, ive never been anything under that since wls.
i will try and my best to get as low as i can, i shall give it another month if i cant do it then i will tell them so, but im trying my hardest and thats all i can do.
thanks nic for helping me try to sort my dilema out its very much appreciated.

thankyou x

Liz, based on what you have said about the waiting times, I would ring them now.

If you are still losing, chances are you will be a good few lb's lighter by the time you get your surgery date.

Are you do another fill, or have you got good restriction with the band now? Will you have to have it de-filled when you have your TT op?

Id go with your instinct. but putting it into months instead of weeks your looking at 5 months so it may be worth phoning them now and getting on that waiting list as im sure that 5lb will be more than off by then.
You are so lucky that it is all part and parcel of your treatment as my pct treat plastics as cosmetin and not reconstruction after wight loss.
good luck with whatever you decide
carole

personally id give it another few weeks then see how you feel im a great believer in listening to your inner voice and the weight is unlikly to go back on so no need to rush

Liz, perhaps your reluctance comes from a bit of surgery fatigue? I don't know you very well obviously but you have had major ops that I know of. You have had an amazing journey and done fantastically well. You deserve to have the outcome that you want. Take some time to reflect on your entire journey and all that you have been through and accomplished. Then when your ready, call them. By then you will of lost even more weight. xxx

hi sam i dont need another fill as im at sweet spot now, when i had the 1st t/tuck my band wasnt de filled, so i dont think they would de fill me for the revisional surgery x

Good for you Liz - more interesting news will be coming from you as you take this pathway and you will be a MEGA expert on all things WLS!!

Sending hugs with fairy dust so the extra weight comes off and the appointment comes through x

I'm a great believer in gut instinct too...did you have a bad experience with your 1st T/T ? (hope you don't mind me asking )

I will definately need one when I get my weight off, but the thought of it scares the pants off me

i didnt have a bad time but it was extremley painfull, the only problem i had was the scar had opened at the bottom where the horizontal and vertical lines met.

thankyou x
