BIG KIM

I am a *NEW* Man!
The last few days I have not been able to get much food down, and it leaves me feeling uncomfortable, like I need a right big Burp, but cant. I couldn't even get a half of a mushy weetabix down this morning, any idea's peeps??

Thanks in advance.

KIM :)

Hey Kim, Sorry i cant help had my GB day before you.
The six month post banders always say go back to fluids and start again.
xx

Hi Kim

when you are having your breakfast have you had any liquids previously? I dont mean at the same time as this is not a good idea but about half an hour before? sometimes I find it hard to get any brekky down if I havent lubricated my eosophogus beforehand.

I just notice how recently you had your op so maybe you need to make it very very milky.

What sort of other foods are you having difficulty with through the day?

Hey well im 5weeks post op and still for some reason cant do weetabix i thinking its too filling i cant seem to think of anything else sorry..hope others can help you..best wishes..xx

Kim - take it easy mate, at your stage this isn't uncommon, some days things will go down and sit better than others, you cant odds it really it just happens and is something you'll learn to live with, it will get better with time and eventually you'll forget you ever went through this, at the moment your bodys learning to deal with raw food hitting your intestine and its not going to like it much, it will slowly adjust but these things take time.

As others have suggested try drinking something 10 minutes pre eating, though be careful as drinking fluids before you eat will cause your upper GI (intestine) to swell slightly and therefore you'll find you cant eat as much (this is called water loading) but at your stage its ok to eat on a wet pouch.

Kim I'm the same. I threw up this morning because there was a pocket of gas behind the yoghurt I'd just eaten. I had a huge belch afterwards and could keep food down after.

in the early days, I could only manage 1/2 a weetabix at a time, but now I always start the day with a hot drink about 1/2 hour before breakfast, and find if I dont have a drink then I cant manage my breakfast.
