After op position

VeronicaT

Gonna be thinner girl
Can I ask, when you have had your op and you are coming round, what position do they put you in? Is it lying flat, propped up, on side???? Might seem an odd question, but I have found in the past that if i am lying flat I can't breathe properly and i panic. I have to be propped up and supported under my shoulders.

Sorry vron I cannot comment as I haven't had my operation. But I am sure if you say something before hand they will probably try to accommodate you.
Interesting question..I will keep an eye out for the replies. x x x

Hi, I am the same i feel i cant breath if laying flat.
When you go into hospital tell your anaesthetist or nurse.
I did and when i came out of surgery i was sat up.
Good Luck

Propped up, it does something to assist against getting infection if you are raised to a certain degree.......

Or at least this is what i heard in one of the sister's meetings at work, unfortunately the meeting is very boring so although taking the minutes i was trying not to listen too much :) xx

propped up on one of those posh remote control bed
