After referral if your lucky what happens next?

Hi Im going back to another doc next week to ask for referral,Im bmi 43 no illnesses but I should qualify?

If he says yes he will refer me whats the progress after that?

If he applies for funding first from the PCT then you wait to hear whether or not you have got it, that can take a couple of months sometimes more
If he refers you to the hospital and you see someone and they say yes then they have to apply for funding from PCT
After you are successful it is approximately 6/9 months wait till op
although some have had it slightly quicker and some have waited alot longer.
Its not a quick procedure.

I only waited 16 weeks from seeing Dr to having op on the NHS so it is worth looking into
