Hope someone out there can help. Do you know if there is an upper age limit for a bypass. I have a friend who would like one. This would not be done privately

My surgeon performed a full bypass on someone in their 60's

When I was in the NHS hospital with the infection, there was a woman in having had a band, she was 62.

Someone had hers at 72!And they are having a ward in Alder Hey Childrens for kids of 14 with weight probs.

I know someone in her mid 60's who has had it done on the NHS. The risk does increase with age (like with all surgery), and some surgeons are reluctant to operate on those over 60 apparantly... But there's no reason why she shouldn't be able to have the operation (depending on other health problems), but she would be better off being referred to an experienced surgeon.

There was a lady in the hospital with me who had had a bypass a couple of months before and she was 63x
