Hi Guys

Ok coming up to my 8th week post op and I have a family BBQ coming up
however I am wondering if I am allowed a small glass of wine? does anyone know if we are allowed? I'm not going to go mad and knowing I can only sip and drink a small amount anyway

I also went to my 6 week post op after having my sleeve (it was actually 7 weeks) anyway saw consultant who said that I was doing really well, and to continue with my routine but to not worry about completely mashing my food as he said to eat mostly softer foods and chew to a moosh consistency! and we all know to chew a min of 20 times. Ive been having mashed potato and broccoli and the likes of admiral pie etc

What are all my fellow 7-8 week sleeve post opers are doing?

Cheers guys
Kaz

Can't speak for everyone ...

But I drink every other weekend ... Not a lot but a few as no one knows I've had the band fitted and I haven't had any problems ...
I got banded last December the 8th and had a glass of wine with my Christmas dinner lol ; mush )

The only problem i had was after my last fill I couldn't even drink water band to tight got 1ml taken out and I am mine ...
Hope that helps x

I'm 8wks out too but from bypass, my surgeon says no alcohol for a minimum of 6mths due to very high risk of ulcers.
Good luck x

I'm not sure for Sleevers but I drank for the first time at 4 months out with my bypass. I think it's prob best to check with your team for their recommendation.

Had a tiny glass of Malibu and diet Coke when I was eight or nine weeks out... Not wise, I know, but yeah. Would be very very careful.

I'm nearly 4 months out an I've had a drink on 3 occasions now. Only 2-3 glasses of low calorie/alcohol wine but I felt ok with it. My surgeon recommended 12 months but said it was more so your in the right frame of mind an not getting drunk an slipping in to your old habits with food, like getting a kebab on way home etc.
I had a bypass.

Hi Everyone!!
Alcohol is part of the Australian and Britain culture and way of life. They drink alcohol to relax, socialize, celebrate, and for its taste.A standard drink contains about 10 grams of pure alcohol.Everybody responds differently to drinking alcohol. It effects our lungs, lever, mental health and cause of cancer and many heart diseases. So avoid alcohol if you want to live a healthy life.
