ALTON TOWERS??

I am due to go to Alton Towers on the 12th Oct for 3 days, at which point I will be 16 days post-op from a Bypass!
Any post-oppers have any idea to whether I will be able to actually go on anything? I lurve the big rides and this was all booked before I had my date.
I did mention the trip a few times in hospital but got little response. I feel ok at the minute and think I will be well healed on the outside by then but I am worried about damaging anything internally?
All advice welcomed, even if I can just go on the Flume!! xxx

Oh gosh Kellie, I used to love rides too but Im too much of a wimp nowadays.

I had a band but in all honesty I dont think I would of risked it so soon, I would try and check with your team again.

I am 4 weeks out from my op and wouldn't even consider it yet, I'm not sure all the jerking around of your body would do your insides any good. I still find that big bumps in the road can make me hurt xx

I think that you would be making a very serious mistake by going. Some of those big rides can give you such a jolt. Would you really consider undoing all that you have done to heal yourself this past few weeks. I am wanting to go swimming which is only gentle exercise but have been advised not to do this until at least 4 to 6 weeks.

Try and sell your ticket to another frined who would like to go and put the money towards your new wardrobe. xx

Its not worth the risk going on the big rides but you can go and have a good day out, better safe than sorry hun xx

I would definitley say no.. such a shame for you though. I was told no exercise for 6 weeks just gentle walking so the rough and tumbles you get on a fair ride not to mention the bars/straps across you would scare the life out of me so soon after yoru surgery. x

In full agreement with posts that say no way! I felt surprisingly cracking two weeks post op, bit i was still knackered !!!! I couldnt imagine walking around alton towers not to mention the damage i imagine the rides COULD do to your new iccle pouch. X x
