im 10 mths out of surgery and i have lost a measley 32lbs, really isnt nothing to call home about, in fact its really pathetic.

why cant i just loose sodding weight :cry::cry:

Sorry for yet another moaning post

You have every right to feel like a good moan Em., who wouldn't... I'm really hoping that you can find your way forward... it's a frustrating issue and I am feeling for you... with you and wanting to encourage you to try and find some way forward... never say never and never give up having come this far Angel... keep trying and keep going... Love and hugs to you Em xxx

You must feel very down-hearted Em. I don't know what to say. How's your restriction? Have you tried writing a food diary?
I wish I could say something else to help you.

maybe ask to see a dietician Em, hows your restriction ? as if theres a unbalance of the restriction or your food choices arnt correct then this reviewed may help your situation x

Im really pretty clueless about the band Emma but that doesnt sound like a lot for 10 months. Maybe you need a fill? Can you speak to your team about how its bothering you? I wish I could be more helpful but I can deffinately send you a massive Manchester ((HUG)) and say Im sorry you are so fed up XX

Hi Emma. I cannot offer any advice as a band newbie. Why don't you post on the band thread and see if others can offer any guidance and support. It would be a good idea to contact your team too - they are there to help you. Please do not give up.

was gonna say the same as Liz, maybe you need more restriction via a fill, writing a food diary is good, this will allow you to no pun intended chew over what's going on and maybe rectify things, and when are you due for a follow up consultation, i guess with a band it's much more regular till they find that sweet spot isn't it? a mention then can only help too ;) chin up :D

Hi Em
Has a fill helped in the past when you have just had it done? I wonder if you dont have enough fluid in yet. I will post a days food and then check it with yours and see if its about the same amount etc.
I have a mixed restriction - some parts of the day I cant eat too much but by the end of the day can eat a lot more. I am losing a pound a week but seem to have lost more overall than you have.
Breakfast - bowl of muesili with semi skimmed milk
Lunch - 3 ryvita with laughing cow lite spread and half a chicken breast with tomatoes, 1 tub of peaches in fruit juice
snack - 1 chocolate digestive
Dinner - home made veg soup, 1 slice of wholemeal bread
2 slices of ham and small salad
6/7 drinks of tea or NAS squash
Vitamin and 2 omega 3 tablets

Hope this helps and lets you see if you are eating more or less than me
I am hoping for a fill in Feb to lose a bit more before the summer
Best wishes
Jo XX

Chin up Emma, as Liz says get some input from your dietician.....

I know your demoralised with only 32lbs gone, but on the flip side how much would you have lost without your band?

Keep on trucking xx

tight band verses sloppy sliders its a v hard decider, if chuckin up and stil n not losing weight, then its not good, sliders coz solids hurt is not good, i cant say this is whats happening here with you but its a v common issue x

Thanks for the input ladies, sorry i just seem to have negative days, and i guess as clothes are getting looser thats a good thing. I have a fill 4th march at my year check up, i think i definaltey need it, havent had one since october, and im at 7.5mls in a 14ml band.

Today my menu plan is:

brekkie: weetabix with skimmed milk

Lunch: 1 slice cheese on toast

Dinner: lion chop and mixed veg

Snacks: Glass of milk

Drinks: nas lemon. de-caff coffee, mango juice

good luck today Emm your menu looks good x

the amount on the menu is what i have roughly each day,

Sometimes i wonder if im not eating enough again..

Will plod along and hope the next fill (4th one) will help, i guess in my band i still have alot unrestricted at the mo?

Xx

Hi Emm

Im thinking the same thing, although your meals sound ok. (apart from maybe the cheese on toast!). Where's the fruit? lol

I know its only an example but I eat much more than you to include 3 portions of fruit x

i havent got any fruit till tommorrow when delivery coems x

I'm not a bander, but I feel your pain with the weight loss being slow. I appreciate how demoralising it is when you are a slow loser, but 32 lbs is still an achievement though, would you realistically have managed that without the band? As for diet wise, sounds OK to me, (although like Mazza says, maybe not the cheese on toast on a regular basis)...but I'm wondering do you actually track your calories as I'm not sure you are eating enough, imho? Perhaps you could try a food diary just for a couple of weeks to actually see a true idea of your average calorific intake? Hows the exercise coming along too? Are you keeping up with something you enjoy on a regular basis? It sounds like you do need a fill though, so thank goodness that is coming around soon-ish. Hope it helps xxx

Hi Mel. I am getting my head round things now. I have yet to test its full capabilities as no sooner did I get to the ,normal' food stage I had a fill (last Friday)so it is back to liquids for 2 weeks then 2 week purees. I am trying to be positive after a wobbly start. I know it is going to be slow progress but progress never the less which is the important thing.

tranquil x
