Shrinking For Sophie
Okay post op third day. Not feeling hunger at all. Today I have just sipped away at tea and oxos all day. Had. Glass of milk half an hour ago but I downed this (200mls) in less than twenty minutes?? Is that not a bit too fast?
Wasn't sick or anything but concerned that I can do this so early on when yesterday I could hardly get anything in

I couldn't do that 3 days post op but one thing I have learnt thru lots of reading on here everyone is different! I can drink more now but somedays harder than others.

If there was, you'd be vomiting or feeling sick. We all heal very differently and the initial level of of restriction is largely due to swelling.

Thank you ladies that's put my mind at rest a little. I am aware of any liquid that I take in passing through so to speak as I can literally hear it gurgling all the way down!

I would say 20 mins was ok Frankie, I could drink 150 mls so not far off at all, I am 7 weeks post op and still not that hungry lately its more head hunger than physical hunger, I haven't gave in though, hope ur feeling well and congrats onwards and upwards for u missy :D xx

Thank you Danielle ... So good to hear from someone who's experience was almost the same x

Yeah, that's fine. I could drink a cup of tea in about 20 mins when I was still in hospital! I'd say it was most definitely a positive thing, as its easier to stay nice and hydrated :) I'm glad to hear you are doing well.

For the first two weeks I could easily do the same, and was easily getting in 4 pints of milk a day. I think your pouch would let you know if it wasn't happy.

Oh..... the gurgling, it's something else isn't it :D

Totally agree and we are all different so don't panic. Restriction will come with proper food :)

I feel much better now thanks to all you lovely people. I am just recovering from a fit of giggles as my whole tummy decided to get all orchestral with whizz bangs pops and gurgles. it lasted about two minutes and i wish i had a recorder at hand ... really weird hahaha

I have no problem drinking and I'm 3 weeks tomorrow. In fact when drinking I absolutely forget that I've had the op lol. This morning I had some diluted fresh orange juice straight from the fridge when I got up and I must have drunk it a little bit too quickly because my poor wee pouch got very cold for a few minutes which was a bizarre feeling!!

I would say if you're sipping you probably find that actually you could sip all day without having to stop. Apart from the fact you have to get up and make it ;) When I was having soup in a bowl though I managed very little.

I experienced this when I drank milk straight from the fridge (hate warm milk). It didn't hurt but it is as you say very weird.

Yes that is what surprised me whereas on Saturday I just couldn't face drinking as it just seemed to sit there.

Thank you both x

Yesterday I described my stomach as sounding like a malcontent wookie to a friend on the phone, because that's exactly what it was like!

I,m the same , seem to be able to drink loads, it is me that is consciously monitoring my intake, not my pouch!

Hahaha love the malcontent wookie description ... Matches perfectly!

I would suggest its not worth worrying about - the more fluids you can get in the more of the a aesthetic you can flush out.
