Another Milk Diet Question

The streamline surgical milk diet states 'semi skimmed'.
Will I get away with skimmed instead? I much prefer it!

I was told no, it is due to the *something* (protein??) in the fat of the semi milk so it HAD to be semi not skimmed :(

check with your provider. I only had skimmed milk on mine :)

Can we put low fat low carb protein powder In the milk and can we have bovril as a low cal drink??

I was allowed 1 OXO cube a day, not sure about bovril, as T.K says its best to ask really as there seems to be so many different rules/diets.

Due to a cancellation I'm starting my milk diet now with a view to the op on 4th jan I need to make sure I get it right as I've over indulged the last few weeks and hope the 9 days they gave me is sufficient

I too had a cancellation and didn't have the full 2 weeks, some providers only require 1 week so it should be fine.

I don't think id be so worried if I hadn't ate and drank so much last week, I was actually having a pint when I got the phone call didn't know how quick to pour it out haha

This made me laugh. When did you do your 5% loss diet? Just wondering timescales. I'm starting the milk diet tomo :)

I'd achieved the goal they set for me in April by July, had endoscopy in October where I'd had another decent weight loss, I was expecting date around March/April so had gained a little on the run up to Christmas but have lost that on this fabulous (haha) milk diet.

I'm on milk diet , end of second day. I don't cheat but would be so easy . I'm thirsty all the time, is this normal ? So much naughty food in the house for kids from crimbo n having to cook for them :( be easier when they back at school I hope :)

I asked that question and it has to be semi skimmed to give you the right cals. I didn't find it too bad in the end did 15 days was cancelled then did 12 days the next month.

Well my liver has shed 7lbs of crap in three days :) that's good going :) only another half a stone to go in jan :) Feeling dizzy n sweating like a race horse after the grand national. I don't sweat usually but sure am today. Taking down crimbo decks weak as a kitten :( roll on day five ;) nice milk diet .

Being weighed in officially at the GPs Tuesday for my two weeks milestone on the milk diet to lose 5%. On 2nd jan my weight was 19.5 starkers. Now at the end of my first week I'm 18.1 1/2 so by sticking to it to the t I've lost 17.5 lbs! Very pleased and coping well :))) wish this would carry on but I know it slows rapidly :( Knew I was full of water !

I am a little confused about the variety of milk products available. Can someone please elaborate on this?

Every provider has its own version of diet to enable you to lose weight and pre op. I'm under Luton and Dunstable and even tho I've done it before with my band which had to be removed, I had to prove I could lose 5% weight to see the surgeon. Then again pre op.
I have to drink 4 pints of semi skimmed milk, oxo by a drink, water, t coffee etc a day. One multi vit. Nothing else. This detoxes n shrinks liver n gives just enough nutrician . Approx 500 cals.
Hope this helps.
I have to say I feel great at the moment, rubbish removed from body :)
