another UTI! - kidneys

I have another kidney infection - this is the second in 4 weeks(ish) im drink 2.5lts (up-ed it by at least 1/2ltr after last one!) minimum per day! starting to get fed up now!

consultant dismissed it as having anything to do with op (which is fare enough) and told me to see GP. see how it goes!

Ouch ... that is 2 of you within 2 days ... Carol (hopelesscase) is suffering too. I know it is very painful & you probably will need anti biotics so see your GP asap. Cranberry juice is also good for UTI's. Hope you feel better soon, sweetie xxx :wave_cry:

I get these all the time, and have one at the moment too!

Cystopurin from the pharmacy can be good too.

i had cystitis 4 weeks ago and can only persume that it hadn't cleared and travelled up my ureatha to cause a nasty Upper UTI. I can honestly say i have never felt so poorly. get yourself to the dr's with a urine sample so they can send it off to see what the bug is exactly. I went to the walk in at weekend and was given a very stong general antibiotic that hasnt suited my stomach at all and left me with diarrhoea of which i have now had to send a sample of as im loosing blood as well. so im having to wait for both samples to be cultured to see which treatment will be best. saying that my temp has finally broken so i think my body must be fighting it itself. but feel for you if your as rough as what i have been.

Good news that your immune system has kicked in, Carol ... you will probably still need the anti biotic's though to be on the safe side. xxx :wave_cry:

oooo sounds nasty hopelesscase! urine sample has been sent off - i feel unwell in myself and some stomach pain (lower left again) got antibiotics again see how it goes xxxxx just getting a bit fed up but loving the weightloss!!

ive had 5 uti's in 3 months all needing antibio's im now seeing a specialist as they were really bad, 2 of them had clots of blood in my urine , but touch wood im ok at the mo xxxx

oh gawd!! keep us updated xx i hope this isnt a sign of things to come - and its just because im... run down or summit?? see how it goes - i dont seem to have as many signs or symptoms as people on here ...

there is only one reason for mine well the initial cystitis anyway ;o).....

does seem a lot of people get these after surgery. I wonder if they are somehow related?

thanks for that tip shell. always useful being unaccustomed to such things. good job your telling me 10 months down the line id of never of been out of the bathroom in the early days!! lol
