Any advice please?

I have received my invoice today for my surgery. I booked direct with the surgeon so my invoice consists of a payment to him direct and a payment to the hospital.

Two weeks ago the surgeon's secretary quoted the full cost to me and now I have the invoice it is £150 more than quoted.

Should I ring the secretary and question this?

ooo karen absolutly...!!!! if you asked for the full price and they qouted it wrong, n it was human error on there part really they should give you the price first originally qouted! defiantly ring tho bet its bloody vat or some loophole to get more cash grrrrr xxx

Of course you should question it, did you get the original quote in writing - they ain't got a leg to stand on if you did.

Of course-nothing wrong with checking-
just add up the 2 figures first - my mental arithmatic is pretty good but I can imagine adding up wrong under stress

I would definately check it and find out where the extra £150 has come from.

Mine is also £150 more than quoted over phone and like you two bills one for surgery and one for hospital. I got the hospital one yesterday and it said to be paid 7 days befor admission and i go in on Friday.

Charmaine my invoice was one in two parts. Doesn't say has to be paid 7 days before. In fact it says hospital to be paid on admission. Yesterday at the hospitals nobody mentioned money at all. I had to ask louisa when I pay. Have sent her email and waiting for reply.

Had reply from secretary. The £150 is the consultation fee. So it is only a free consultation if you don't go ahead presumably.

Sorry i'm a bit late coming in here i could have saved you a call Karen. I was the same £150 is consultation fee payable along with Mr Ammori's invoice to himself and yes you pay other half on the day you are admitted. I was the exact same. Sorry for being a bit late xx

Same thing has happened to me to Karen, Ive emailed Louisa still waiting for a reply from Saturday, so now i no thanks guys. I thought consultation was free, cheeky gets xxx

I had my invoice from Louisa on Saturday mine says For gastric bypass and new patient consultation and i could pay by bank transfer or cash on day of surgery so i did a bank transfer. The hospital invoice came yesterday and asks me to make payment at least 7 days before admission date i phoned to say im in on Friday and it was a answer machine i left message but no reply yet so i will pay when i get there tomorrow. I didnt notice the extra charge it was only when i read your message and asked my husband and he said yes.
