Anyone for coffee?

No, not the late 80's / early 90's euphemism, but the drink.

I love my coffee, I have one of those Cafetières and constantly have a "pot" on the go.

My worry is, after my sleeve, will I still be able to drink coffee? I'm guessing yes, but I've read some people having difficulties with food/drink they used to love not sitting right after the sleeve.

Anyone have trouble with a fresh brewed coffee?

im 3 weeks out and have no trouble at all :) xxx

I've also had no problem with it...ccould even drink a full cup after a few weeks

I drank tea but swopped to coffee havnt had tea for months,I like Douwe Egberts Gold with evaporated milk!Could live on the stuff.Fills me up and gives me energy!

I used to drink coffee strong & black by the gallon and to my disgust I can't stomach it anymore. Tried a mug the other day and had to pour it out

I've had a few issues with my taste buds since my op but I'm now getting a taste back for certain things so I'll try again in a couple of weeks

I have also sadly lost my desire for coffee, which is a shame as I loved it so much. It is also odd as I am enjoying strong tasting foods! I am hoping that I get the taste for coffee back.

Ah, okay this has put my mind at rest as it seems that I will either still enjoy it and will be able to drink it - or, worse case, I just don't like it any longer (but that may change after a while).

Either of those I can live with - it would be still loving the taste, but not being able to keep the stuff down would be the worst case for me.

Thanks for all of your help.

Mmmmm I'm 3 weeks post op and love my coffee still!

I am a bypasser who ahs had no problem going back to tea or coffee since op but the other day a lady on this site was explainin that she has been unwell and in hospital due to a perforated stomach ulcer, she has had to have her op redone where the bowel tube reaches upto the pouch I think she said or where the top of the pouch is connected i am not sure however the hospital have told her that coffee is one of the main offenders for peptic ulcers I ahve no wish to have anyhting like that and since that day I have had no coffee at all, not worth the risk in my eyes, but hey I'm one softy, and have been very well so far don't want to fall now. Good luk to you all. xx I did enjoy coffee xx

Ah Muttley you are here now!

I don't drink coffee but I have found certain foods are too strong/spicy for me post op. Particularly my previously favourite spicy asian salad dressing; can't bear it now!
