Has anyone got any suggestions about what to eat for the first week or two post op ? I know the dietician will talk me through it next week but i was hoping to make some things to freeze this weekend incase i don't feel like cooking for a bit.

Also i remember seeing posts advising on what to take into hospital but i can't find the threads - anyone got any advice or thread links ?

for the first couple of weeks I was fluids only. Tea, coffee, milk, water, NAS squash, stock, clear soup, sugar free jelly....

Cant think of any more of the top of my head. Next stage for me was stuff like sugar free angel delight, sugar free custard, petits filous. Was a weird stage actually as it seems all I could manage was sweet when I have always been a savoury person.

Any idea how long your team recommend at each stage?

I am fluids for my first two weeks, milk, yogurts thinned dow with milk, watered down fruit juice, sugar free squash, flavoured water, oxo, bovril, marmite. thin smooth soups, tea-i bought lots off different flavours, lemon tea, peppermint, earl grey etc. sugar free jelly and low fat low sugar ice cream. I also bought sugar free ice lollies, but for now I am sticking to warm drinks. I have seen posts from folks who made meals for further down the line, like fish pie, shepherds pie and froze them in small portions.

Hi if you go onto the sticky section at the top of the page for weight loss surgery you will see lots and lots of fab menus and also how to make them from the beautiful nicole (Phatgirl) and yes they are all very yummy!! have fun cause you will be spoilt for choice. Gail x

Hi
I am on week one but struggling for frsit couple of days this was me

cup of tea
strawberry low fat mousy (tesco own thing)
soup
tea
nas juice

but yesterday i was fed up in pain and had weetabix very sloppy and for tea had very runny mash potato with bisto cheese sauce, not at all what a dietican or surgeon would be happy with but i feel much better today. I will carry on with mostly liquids like soups etc but will probably have one pureed meal a day like weetabix or smething similar, my rumbling belly was causing lots of pain.
