I was seeing Pat the nurse then she referred me to the consultant he has recommended me for the surgery.
I have tried xenical, reductil and acomplia. Also the usal diet clubs and exersize. I hope this is enough to satisfy the PCT. My GP applying for funding this week. I have wrote a letter to my GP asking him to consider including this with the application to the PCT.
My BMI is about 49 and I do not have sleep apnea or diabetes.
When i applied for funding i had a horrible job getting it, But i kept at it writing to the pct and finally they gave me funding.
After getting funding it took about 4 montsh to get a appointment with mr jain and then i had to have a few more appointments for diets etc to help lose a little more weight then i had the operation within 6 months.
So your battle really is to get the funding which you will get but only if you fight for it. It seems to be a way they work.
You apply they say no. You re-apply they say no. You re-apply again saying your smash their faces in. They say yes
You get alot of support once you get the funding . Its all run by the obesity research center at luton and dustable hospital and all the meetings are there.
They give you diet sheets etc with a full menu of foods to eat and help you through it all so once on that route your sorted.
As for getting refused they just said they have not got the money to fund it.
As for you getting it im sure you will be ok in the end just keep pestering them if they refuse you.
But one thing i would suggest doing is read as much as you can about what operation you want . so when you see your doctor he knows what your letting your self in for and you have given it great thought.
