I too noticed that people seem to drop away after a year or two which is a great shame
Possibly it is, but I have to admit I might be one who does "drop off" eventually once I also reach my goal -- the main reason why I keep returning to WLS is to keep giving myself a kick up the
rse to
*try* and lose my remaining 50 lbs / 30%.
I am aware that I have stalled at 210 lbs for some time, and I am hopeful that once I have settled in my
(1) new job and
(2) new flat (early March) -- I will be able to make headway on reducing those remaining 50 lbs.
It is only
popping in here on a regular basis that
reminds me that I need to try and tackle the last few stone.
I am sure if it had not been for this site, I would have ended up one of the statistical
"average sleevers" which my bariatric team tells me the
average sleever loses 70% of their excess weight ...... and I might have thought
"Ok, that's fine, I'm no longer super morbidly obese, I'm no longer diabetic, I have normal blood pressure, etc etc, that'll do nicely, I'm done".
It is only coming on here seeing a number of sleevers
and bypassers
and people who had their ops around the same time as me who have lost
more which keeps inspiring me to actually try and keep up the good work !!!
ANYWAY ........... talking of posters who "dropped" off, I am still curious to know whether
RandomTrial turned out to be a bypasser or a sleever:

This New Zealand person turned up on a "bypass vs sleeve" thread about a year ago and said that they would not know whether they had been given a sleeve or a bypass until December 2012 ..... but no update from them. Ho hummm
