Am looking at enquiring about the lapband but need to know what to ask and say. Have checked up on the website but not sure if I will get funding unless i have a bmi of 65! Is that right? :cry:

One year intensive management in specialist obesity clinic setting. BMI over 45 with type 2 diabetes or over 50 with comorbidities or over 65 without comorbidities.

It may be worth asking your GP to check on this. Also, the list of co-morbidities is quite a long and varied one so you may get through at BMI 50.

I live in Coventry have just moved from Warwickshire, my GP at Bedworth told me that nobody has ever been funded in Nuneaton & Bedworth.

I have ended up going private because there is no way I meet the criteria for funding.

Many thanks ladies for your replies. Think my best option is to see my GP and take it from there. Just would have liked to have been prepared....thanks anyway. Will let you know what he says.
