Well just thought id post to say i went to a private hospital today for a consulation for a gastric band. all went well just need the finances!!!

Made me want it even more though

I will/am, not holding all hopes on the nhs! didnt realise how much it costs and also howmuch the cost varies if you go to someone else!

There are big difference in different surgeons, try and go to the best though who might not necessarily be the cheapest.....ark at me Id have had the local butcher do mine I was that desperate You know what Im saying though XX

Thank you both, im so happy i found this forum everyone is so supportive and helpful. Its good to talk to people who understand! Some of my friends dony get it buts thats because they have never been big.

I can understand you wanting to go through the NHS hun, I don't know what i would have done had it not been for my mum getting the finances as I got to a point where couldn't really take it anymore!

It is so exciting, what are you doing for ur pre op diet? I was told my the surgeon today to do wot works for me as long as i weight!

Im exactly the same i have no patience thats why i dont think i can wait on the nhs list! Ha

Hey leonie,

You must be excited knowing its only a week away! Im excited for you.
I think i will end up going private if i can get the funds i know its a lot but its worth it and i would rather do it whilst im young. Its going to change my life and i cant wait!

Hu did you go to see Nat as I no the surgeon that does the NHS ops at Walsall also works at the spires in Little Aston Bupa hospital. His name is Mr Amir Khan and I highly recommend him he is a fantastic surgeon but also a very caring man who will always help his patient if they need it.

Well I'm doing a bit of a mix to be honest! I'm on the slimfast shakes,except the Tescos version as they're nicer (done slimfast before - absolutely rank!), and I'll either have one for breakfast or dinner dependent on my shift, and a yoghurt and 2 satsumas,again,dependent on shifts. For lunch,I'm basically staying off any form of carbs and having soup with a less than 10 calorie jelly pot. Basically, I can't just do the shakes as I'm a manager of a flagship fashion store on oxford street and my energy levels are zero otherwise..kind of struggling as it is!

TBH giving up booze and crisps is the hardest!!It's ok though,i know it'll be worth it

I know my diet isn't the same as other peoples..but when I spoke to my contact at THG and she said similar to what they said to you,what ever works for you

I know that's partly why I'm doing this now as I'm just 25 and want time to grow into my band and new lifestyle before i develop even more bad habits!
