Lost 6st via Cambridge weight plan in 10 months. maintained for 3 months.

Had my consultation last friday and was told its been all approved even before i walked in!
he estimated with in two months....

ok so here are my questions...
i have read that two weeks before the Op you need to stop taking the pill.... thing is i am on DEPO which lasts for three months.. i am due my next shot this month...

for all you post-op TTers... whats it been like?
how long were you off work for? i have been told up to 6 weeks....

cheers babs

I thought u had too maintain for 2 years ,not 2 months???? Or did I read this wrong???

tt on nhs

hi leopard pagan im having tt also due to massive weight loss on cambridge diet (8 1/2 stone but 10 in total if including pre cambridge) i went for consultation jan 21st and having fleur de lis type hopefully may timeish! scarey but exciting eh? did u have to be bmi 25 or under? in my area they are fussy on keeping weight off. im moving up plans now ready for op, how bout you are you almost done with cd?

i have lost ALL the weight i wanted.. and some!
original goal was 10st.. am now 8st 5lbs! started at 14st 9lbs last April.

lifetime.. yes i am on step 3 1000 cal and maintaining weight very well on that step. in summer i think i will have to up the cal intake as i do get out and do more.

each PCT is different. i asked my GP about the "rules" she didnt know!... i asked the surgeon what i needed to do between now and op.. "just stay healthy and do as your doing now"...
BUT he did say that i am an "ideal candidate".
never had kids or want them! my baby is my motorcycle!
dont smoke or drink.. never have, never saw the point of wasting money when i can put that in my tank and have more fun!
Lost OVER the min 10 BMI points! started at BMI 40, now 23 & been under BMI 25 for well over 4 months
lost weight on my own with diet.

and yes you read that right..... TWO MONTHS... ish...

As a preassessment nurse I know we don't worry about depo contraceptive (normally just progesterone hormone) its just the combined oral contraceptive we stop.
Best give the preassessment clinic at the hospital you will have surgery and ask their advice.
Good luck

Just wanted to say congrats on your weight loss and getting approved! I think Denise has answered your depo question.

I haven't had a TT but I have had other major abdominal surgery for which 6 weeks off work was advised.

Good luck x

6 weeks is what i have been told. been reading (other forums too) that most people are back at work in some shape or form (light duties) with in 4 weeks. there are light duties that i can do where i work. and boss already said i can change my work area around to suit me when i get back.. eg all heavy stuff lowered to waist height to reach.
