At last!! I've found something I dump on!!

Well after months of being all smug that I'd never had a hint of this mystical dumping syndrome that everyone goes on about, I finally got my come-uppance tonight and suffered my first bout of dumping!!

The culprit? A Cadburys Mini Roll!!! That will teach me!

An hour of palpitations, sweating, nausea, dizziness and a small sleep later, I'm back to normal!

I'm sort of pleased that at least I know my bypass is effective now - call me odd! :ashamed0005:

As you will find out after your operation. It's all about trial and error, and everyone makes a few mistakes - this has been my first. The long term goal is to eat healthily and normally, and that includes the odd treat, obviously mini rolls are not the treat for me!

How strange , I dump but ate a mini-roll last week and was fine although I didn't enjoy it like I thought I would and did manage to resist a second ! Not like me at all !

Blimey 15 months out and I still dump on dried fruit! As much as I like a treat I'll be sticking to diabetic treats. Yum yum thornton diabetic mint truffles!

Glad you're feeling better now after your experience, this bypass lark sure catches us out when we least expect it!

oh dear i am so scared of tuching anything sugary, i was diabetic post op so shouldnt touch it anyway... but even the odd treat is scaring me right now... i hate pain!

I don't 'dump' either. Found myself testing a few naughties this week but although I didn't do the dump, I didn't like the taste which is great! I have to say I am getting really bored of protein but have resisted the urge to delve into fat or sugar. Actually turns my tummy at the thought. My biggest shock was my complete disgust at eggs! I used to lurve em, anyway they came, now I can't even cook them! I have started working by WW points and find the 24 I am allowed far too much but alas it allows the odd treat such as a WW bakewell slice (2 points). Good luck all xxx
