Just rang my PCT has its nearly a month since they said that a letter would be soon going to my GP!!

i have spoken to the lady at the PCT who when asked if my case had been reviewed said " we deal with important cases like cancer treatment first" i told her i wouldnt want it any other way etc just wanted to know if my case had been reviewed?? she said we are hoping to deal with "non urgent funding in next few weeks!!"

While i fully understand urgent medical treatment comes first why are we made to feel that we are robbing these poorly people?? when they have had to fight the postcode lottery for years!!!!

anyway i will sit and wait few more weeks then get in touch with them again!

Jayne ignore her she's obviously one of those who thinks its her money. She should remember working for the NHS she is paid out of the same pot our WLS surgery will come out of so how dare she be so rude. Give them a week and ring again. Good luck.

I have had cancer, and to my knowledge you don't need funding for treatment for surgery. she must of been having a bad day, no escuse for bad attitudes.

Jayne-I think they must run courses for PCT staff on how to talk down to people!!!!
write down some choice replies for next time you ring!

Just shows you the differences in different PCT's the woman I spoke to at mine was absolutely lovely! Really helpful and polite, when she said she would phone back she always did. Sounds like she needs to go on a customer services course! x

Un-neccessarily rude! Call back and if she's rude ask for her name and to speak to her manager. An earlier poster is right...they don't discuss funding for cancer care..it's separate from the "non urgent" funding!

This is unacceptable. One thing has nothing to do with another. This woman is using the recent media hype to excuse inefficiency. It's outrageous.
