Will be starting mushy food in a week and was wondering if avocado is ok? It has high fat I know but it's not saturated so wondered if it will still cause dumping?
I'm a ballooner so my plan is prob very different to yours but avocado was ok in my mushy stage as it's the healthy fat. Call your dietitian and they'll let you know. I'm allowed 1/2 a day if I choose.
Never had any problems with avocado. I mixed it up with some Hummus and it tasted lovely. I don't really dump but I think most people that do tend to do it on unhealthy fats and sugar. The sat fat of avocado is just 3 grams so a nice healthy treat. Try a little bit and see how you go.
Brilliant everyone.. that's exactly what I wanted to hear... on my diet sheet they recommend as one of the options in the mushy stage blending chili con carne .. Im a veggie so have been looking forward to some blended vegi chilli with a spoonful of homemade guacamole.. roll on Saturday.
