BALLOON - LANSOPRAZOLE

Hi all,
just been reading some old posts on the balloon and apparently people have been asked to go on lansoprazole for a few days before the op and during the 6 months the balloon is in. just a little concerned as this hasnt been mentioned to me at all . any advice would be appreciated.

ive got balloon in had it in 15 weeks was told to take them 7days before and eveyday whilst balloon in id ask about it if i was u or contact your doc x

Thanks, i will definately be making the call tomorrow! my fella is on them for acid so if need be i can steal some of his. strange how it hasnt been mentioned to me. makes me just a little concerned! x

sunderland hospital wrote to my doctor told them i needed repeat prescription for them for 6 month as that how long i got balloon in hope you get sorted hun x

me too... told to take 30mg once a day starting a week before procedure; and continue with them until balloon is taken out.

Hi all,

thank you for your responses, i am on Omeprazole for the entire duration. Been doing a bit of research, it is a very similar medication to Lansoprazole. xx
