band fill and pasta

My provider's official line is that pasta is a slider food unless cooked al dente. Seeing the dietician last week she said she considers it a slider no matter how it's cooked!

some providers advise pasta isn't good to have with a band however it is cooked. some say that its not so much that its a slider but many cannot tolerate it and can "block" If its with a sauce then it becomes a slider food. ive now had 7 fills and I can still eat it, I just choose not to due to carb content.

But comparing what people can eat after fills isn't a good idea as people start with different levels, have different amounts added, so speak to your provider and follow their guidelines :)

I was told no bread pasta or rice once I was banded and always stuck to that

I haven't eaten bread, rice or pasta since I had my band and I honestly don't miss them even though bread was a real trigger food for me pre-op

I eat pasta and find it quite satisfying, but I only eat around 30g dried weight boiled so as not to over push my band. My provider says its ok in small quantities. I am at 10.5mils in a 14mil band (6-7 fills down the line) but we are all different and our providers have different rules.

I personally can eat virtually everything. I have toast almost every morning and sometimes I have pasta or spaghetti for lunch and it goes down really well. My provider doesn't take out anything from ones diet but it also depends on how it reacts on you.
I also measure everything I eat and I don't consider pasta to be a slider in my case as I tend to get fuller. One thing I haven't eaten since my band is rice, not because of it getting stuck but because its high carbs and so much calories. So just follow ur provider rules and you will be fine....
