Band size

Does anyone know why some get a 10ml band and others a 14ml? I've got the 10ml with 4ml already filled. I was just wondering what the criteria is?

Firstly there are two different band systems used in the UK. The lap band - which you have comes in various sizes but mostly 10 or 14 mil. Then theres the swedish band which I have which is 9 mil.

The main difference other than the different size is how the port is sited.

The choice on which size band would be your surgeons, based on your size and your stomach size.

It's the one thing I didn't ask my surgeon! It only struck me afterwards.... Does a small band mean that you're bigger then?

The larger the stomach the bigger the band I would of thought.

I have a 7 mil band in............I dont know if anyone else has a 7 mil band as I have never known anyone to say so . x

ive got a 9ml band in..my surgeon said he decides what size band to give u depending on the size of ur stomach,the bigger the stomach is,the bigger the band xx
