I think im getting a kidney infection, not sure as i've never had one before! but when I go for a pee I get an awful sore pain in my side and even tho im drinking a good bit my pee is darker in colour.
I have to take the baby for his injections in the morning so was gonna leave a wee sample in to get tested, if it is an infection how will I take the antibiotic....will it not get stuck

heyyy
I think it depends on how big they are. I manage fine with ones as big as my little fingernail as they dissolve in the pouch if taken with water. If I have to take a slightly bigger one I make sure I cut it in half or even quarter.

Oh thats dead on, its usually amoxa.....something!! that they give you and I think they are small enough, cheers hun x

all tablets are fine if taken on an empty pouch as they dissolve any way and pass through.

if you are concerned about swallowing the tablets you could ask for antibiotics in liquid form like they give to kids.

Hi Kate, I have to take a variety of tablets for my bipolar and I have no probs with these. In fact the morning ones fill me up like a particularly horrible breakfast. Hope you get better soon x

Hi :) Hope you don't mind me asking but has your bipolar caused any problems or concerns from the docs with regards to your WLS?

I'm also bipolar and I've been worrying about whether they might refuse my surgery because of it. Did you have to do any extra psych tests or anything before they agreed to go ahead?

Also, to those who are saying it's ok for banders to take tablets ... we were told the exact opposite at the Whittington and we have to take all our meds with us when we see the consultant so they can arrange to replace them with liquid/dissolvable alternatives.

The reasons being that the tablets could get stuck in the narrow opening and they can also cause stomach ulcers by dissolving in the smaller pouch, especially if taken on empty stomach.

my surgeon checked my meds and said some were a no no, tiny ones ok other than that liqs.

just ask for whatever they give you in liquid form...I had liquid a/b's when my wounds were infected. I also take liquid Simvastatin (cholesterol meds) and still use calpol instead of regular paracetamol tablets. :)

you can get most meds in suspention form now but some dr are reluctant to give them as some are really expensive.
