Hi,
I'm jane, i dont know if anyone will remember but i had the failed bypass in feb, so i'm back now and thinking of having a band fitted, what i would like to know,
is there a pre op diet for the band? My pre op diet was slim fast.
are you banders happy you had the band or do you wish you had a bypass? Yes very happy and no
do refills hurt? They are called fills rather than refills and they do not hurt - its just like having an injection in your tummy.
do you need to have many refills in the first few years? That depends, every journey is different. I think I maybe had 3 - cant remember
Hope you dont mine me asking
thanks jane :) xx
ps, are you happy with the weight loss you have?

Yes very happy :D

People say you have to work harder with a band but not having had a a bypass I wouldnt know xx

Hi suzie and mazza
Thanks for the reply,
i'm still not sure which to go for
confused.com!! :)

How much do you have to lose, what are your eating habbits, are you private or NHS. Have you spoken to a consultant for advice?

Bands tend to suit volume eaters with maybe not as much weight to lose.

I dont know much about wrap or sleeve other than lots of people on here have done really well with either.

Bypass is often suited to people with more weight to lose and the possibility of 'dumping' can help some overcome their sweet tooth!

Each op has pro's and cons and each are also just a tool.

Good luck with your decision xx

Thanks
I have about 5st to lose,
i'm going private,
i'm seeing the consultant on the 20th april
i will see what his advice is,
its between a band or a bypass for me, xx

Good luck with your appointment, be honest and go with an open mind and I'm sure you will make the right decision for you xx
