Hi Lumpy
Well it was actually better than I thought it would be! We both agreed that it should have happened before my referral to Chichester but thought it was probably just a box that they forgot to tick. Anyway, we just discussed things like medical history and previous operations, as well as current morbidities and what surgery I want.
We spoke about both sleeve and bypass and she weighed me (lost 4lbs! Yay!) and she said all in all she was happy with everything.
I asked, so what happens when I get my MDT appointment and she explained the meeting with the surgeon, dietitian and psychologist and that they would meet either same day or after and then give me a surgery date. So I asked if it was possible in her opinion that I might be turned down at the MDT and she said she didn't think there was any reason why I could be turned down.
But was told to continue getting fitter for surgery to strengthen the heart so that there are no complications on the table - although I have no heart problems at the moment, I think it was just general advice. Also gave some tips to give skin more elasticity... Exfoliate the whole body and moisturise at least once a week.
Left feeling relieved and excited!
