I have just come home to a letters that begins:

We are pleased to confirm that a follow up appointment has been booked for you...

Its an appointment to see the head doctor as my title suggests. This is after me saying that my letters had gone AWOL! They haven't spoken with my GP as far as I am aware.

What does this mean? Does this mean that I am a shoe in and they just need to check that I am not loopy? Ha!

I am thrilled!!

What happens at this appointment?

It means that before they commit to offering you surgery they want to check you have no underlying 'issues' with food that may mean you sabotage your success.

I haven't attended one myself but in my humble opinion its a really good thing. So many people go into this without addressing their head issues with food and then struggle.

It's a good thing. Be open and honest.

This is one of the things that has really really really helped me in the past year to deal with what and why I eat.

As thinnerjemima & mazza said its to go over your relationship with food (they're checking to see if you have any eating disorders) and to check if you're ok mentally to cope with the op... Be as open and honest as possible as it will be one of the things your surgeon will look at when deciding if you can have the op! X
