apparently, on the news they were talking about bariatric surgery, and that this is one of the areas in which the nhs are going to cut funding. so it looks like yet again us obese people are being punished for having a food addiction, maybe we should all become drug addicts, then that way we would still get the help we need. i find this appaling,

Blo*dy typical, its so unfair! How can they justify it when the surgeons are telling them how much money can be saved in the long run by cutting back on all the NHS Care we would need without the surgery....trust the Gov, just look at the short term solution!! Grrrrrrr X

One day Dotty somebody will do the sums -
don't we start saving them money after 2/3 years?

Im getting more and more angry with this government!!!
It takes a good long while for good things to happen but Im not getting great feelings about this bloody government gggrrrrrrrr.
Steph xx

I agree Steph, all they seem to be doing at the moment is cutting money. I agree some things have got to be cut, like the benefits bill, but they always seem to go over the top and everybody suffers and not just the ones who abuse the system.........grrrr Im off again lol x

Ignorance by the general public does not help! If people knew giving obese people bariatric wls would actually save money in the long term then this wouldn't be such a big issue i think........

Does anyone know if Mrs Cameron had her baby and is on a nhs ward by the way? Just a thought.........

Hiya, yes she had her little girl in Treliske, Truro (where I gave birth to all of mine lol) xxx

trouble is that the nhs only looks up to one year ahead. It's all about what they can cut in each financial year, so they don't care about how we save them money in the long term.

It is a completely foolish and short-sighted policy.........

but sadly completely predictable given the government we now have.:mad::mad::mad:

hey girls, o noooo do you think they d pull back people who all ready have funding?....:(

I wouldn't be surprised if they did pull funding, sorry everyone, i only think this as i am a civil servant and know that projects we had funding for have been dropped like a stone.
I totally agree that if we were drug addicts or alocoholics we'd get help. My point is always you don't need alcohol of (illegal)drugs to live so they can be cut out, but you do need food to survive so there's no going "cold turkey". Bl**dy annoying i say though.
