Beef casserole

Just made a slow cooked beef casserole - just beef and a packet for ease as knackered after first half day back at work - omg it was soooooo tasty and just so soft and flaky - made it for son too but he's having something else now as that's all mine :)

OOOh I love casseroles. I use my slow cooker all the time so it's all ready when I get in from work. I freeze some in me size portions too for when the family are having something that I can't eat like fish and chips.

Tried oxtail casserole yesterday in slow cooker - looked rich but didn't realise it was so fatty so it spent 7 hours cooking to go in the bin :/)

Hi

Another big thumbs up for a Casserole done in a slow cooker, you might be surprised just how much you can eat with a nice slow cooked casserole, as it all classed as a slider food, so watch out you don't over do your portion size, although its excellent for upping your protein levels with something that actually tastes nice.

Don't forget to add some cooked root veritable and some purl barly to help thicken it. Everything will be nice and soft and will go down so well.

One thing to remember ismyounuse TESCO soup mix with your casserole, it needs soaking for 24 hours before use or else it will be rock hard. Purl barly just goes in without any extra prep.

I cook all my joints of meat in the slow cooker. If you haven't tried it, roast a chicken in the slow cooker. It will be the best chicken you ever taste :)
