Been bk to hosp wound open!

Hi all, quick update due to bad swelling my wound has opened where vertical scar meets horizontal it's common to have probs with this area app! Been bk to Hosp and had it redressed and steri strips applied and told cud expect a gush of fluid from this site( seroma) they won't drain it unless gets infected they say body will absorb it or will leak out of wound onto padding they've given me! Just gotta take it easy and see how it is at dressing clinic on tues!

I got a wound breakdown on my arm. It was a huge hole and took weeks to heal.

I had the very same problem after my FDL, and it did get worse before it got better, so just be prepared for this. Once all the fluid had leaked out, I could see it getting better day by day, and after just 4 weeks post op, I was all healed and didn't have to attend the dressings clinic again. Hope this has put you at ease a little, and hope it gets better soon
