My hospital recommended staying on liquids for 4 weeks.. arg,,, but after about 10 days I felt famished, so I started to introduce more sloppy and puréed foods.
I just went with how I felt and listened to my body. I tried small amounts and ate very slowly. Cottage pies, mash, laughing cow cheese (light) etc...
We all heal and adapt at different rates, so just take it easy and listen to your body.
hi donna yes onto stage 2 on friday as i said everything been fine tjll day 10 then total hunger ive upped my soup intake and had a few dairy lea triangles but dont seem to have done much
Fortunately my team made sure I was ok on pureed foods before leaving hospital. Your body will find a way to tell you what’s right and what’s wrong (believe me it will !) If you are hungery thentry some ‘slop’ .. .. .. good luck
You are so right there Kevin - my body told me at lunch time that I wasnt ready for cauliflower cheese (mashed up!!) - only had 3 teaspoons and thought I was dying! Have had a few things pureed but thought cauli cheese would be fine as its soft! WRONG!! Back to soup for my tea - not going to argue with my pouch again - he is a bully!
My stomach has been rumbling all day today and it's been very distracting have now gone to bed so hopefully wnt hear it anymore lol thought I was eating enough but maybe not !
Hi, I found I was also hungry. I think you get so fed up with liquids, your mind begins to tell you, you are hungry.
Try some soup, it helped me.
It will be much better once you begin the pureed stage.

Hi Phil, I tried Cauliflower cheese and I had the same reaction as you, so I bought some low fat cheese and made my own and I was fine, it could be that it was too high in fat.
I can't tollerate anything too high in fat or sugar (thank God LOL) Karen x
