Omg it is rank, why oh why do we have to have it?

cant answer that lol... i didnt do that pre-op diet... but i would like to know too xx

my god think i will have to do a spoonful of bovril then a load of water tastes so much better with out water lol

Can i do that?

i too much prefer oxo the chicken one is nice like a water chicken cup a soup.

Salt is important for muscle function and all sorts of other bodily functions. Drinking lots of water or milk also flushes out vital salts, so you need to make sure you replace them by having the salty drink. :)

Might have to try the oxo cubes then

I got by with Chicken Bovril and Oxo Curry Cubes (often mixed together) - everything else made me gag!

I love oxo in water. I drink about two of them every day. Very good for you, full of stuff your body needs and keeps your fluid intake up, I think they are about 17 cals per cube too, so not even worth considering the cal content. I dissolve one in about half a mug of boiling water and add pepper, I like it nice and beefy!

I think the bovril thing is probably for all the b vitamins it contains!! I must admit would prefer bovril to yoghurt or milk lol!! but my sympathy goes out to you if you don't like it... but hang in there not long now xxx

Ive never been told you HAD to have them for any reason other than it was another drink option!I have always been told they have far too much salt by nutritionists.

Ordinarily they would be a very salty addition to a normal diet, but whilst doing the milk diet, you are taking in so much fluid, your kidneys are flushing out too much salt too quickly and it has to be replaced by having the salty drink.

I am not doing the milk diet, mine is a no carbs diet plus 2 litres of fluid so the fluid will be the reason I surpose xxxxx thanks for you advise xxxx

I didnt do the milk diet either!

Eating a restrictive diet which is low in salt (due to lack of processed foods) and drinking lots of fluid will flush out salts, they need replacing! It matters not whether it is milk or water!
