Breathlessness

Hi there all I'm new to this site I'm 4 weeks post op gastric bypass and just asking has anyone had any issues with being breathlessness i have been back in hospital 3 times and they have done all the test for blood clots and blood levels these are all clear, I'm alright with lying down but as soon as i move around i'm out of breath and nearly collapsing... Am i expecting too much but i'm also struggling to eat anything as well as i'm still on the soup stage at 4 weeks has anyone had this problem??? please please help as I feel totally depressed and wish i had never had it done

Sorry to hear you are so poorly. Have they tested you for anaemia? if they have done the clot tests and they aren't responsible ask your gp to refer you to cardiacs so they can have a look see at what's going on. It may not be related to your surgery so a wider exploration is needed |I think.

OMG, what have they doen? A few tests with no conclusive answers and then just sent you home to get on with it?
Get on that phone and kick up a fuss, if they don't help then get yourself into A&E, they will run a series of tests and get you seen by the relevent dept.

I have seen people post re breathlessness post op, but don't have any first hand experience. Lynne08 had this & dizziness quite badly but think it has resolved itself now. I do think you should get your GP to follow up on it though at 4 weeks post op. Hope you feel better soon, honey xxx :wave_cry:

Hi all,
This is Cath's husband David thanks for all the replies just to let you know I took her back to Manchester where she had it done and they are doing all the tests on her to see what's wrong so hopefully something will come up to tell us whats wrong will let you all know how it goes.
