We had jacket potato and home made chilli last night, have had this several times post-op and it went down fine as always. I felt queasy immediately, decided I had perhaps had too much potato and it soon passed anyway.

But by midnight I had awful stomach pains, and have been on and off the loo every since, even still now. Stomach is very very sore (intestinal area more than pouch area), I have just had fluids today so far.

I REALLY wanted to have my dinner tonight (roast lamb) and am so looking forward to it, but not sure whether to eat or not?! I have had it before, with no problems, and pre-op often used to feel worse for NOT eating iyswim.

WWYD?

I'm sorry that you are not too well. It appears and I've already found out that anything can upset your tummy. I hope it soon clears up.

All I can say is stay on fluids and plate that lovely roast lamb up and freeze it so that you can have it tomorrow?

I would just try a little dinner and see how you go. Sometimes when Ive had a bit of tummy upset Ive not been able to eat much the day after, other times Ive been fine. Hope it goes down ok :D XX

Hope you are soon feeling better Dell.. love and hugs xxx

Hi Dell
I would tend to say try some dinner, we tend to automatically assume its a "wrong" food for our bypass or bands when in actual fact it just hasn't gone down right. It is also quite common to have eaten a particular food many times before without any bother then suddenly that same food upsets your system. I had roast beef today and after three mouthfuls it hurt and i had to stop as it made me feel sick yet i've had it countless times before so i've just put it down to one of these things. Try some roast lamb dinner and see how it goes i'm sure it will be fine let us know how it goes xx

Thank you all :) had a little dinner slowly...and feel better for it. Am sure its my longstanding IBS playing up as its still a niggle, but enjoyed the food very much! I'd definitely recommend roasting it for 5 hours - divine xxx

Lamb is my fave meat too..........last time I had it though it caused me a rabid dog moment  Ive been a bit scared of it since then but I think its more b ecause I ate too fast so I will try it again. Pleased you enjoyed it Dell :D XX
