calcium

Hello all,
I am 8 1/2 weeks post bypass. Over the last week I have been vomiting more than usual. Saw the consultant last Thursday who said I may have an ulcerated opening to my pouch so if vomitting cont, I will need an endoscopy and a stretch.The vomitting I had was very frothy and mucusy. However I have improved slightly since I saw consultant. Over the weekend I stopped taking the calcium - and no vomitting since. Can calcium cause vomitting and nausea? Is there any alternative to calcium tablets?

I'm not aware of any link between calcium and vomiting. We are given calcium supplements because of the risk in later life particularly for females of osteoporosis. If you cant tolerate the tablets, you will have to make a concerted effort to keep your calcium intake up from food. Lots of milk, cheese, yoghurts.
