Hiya love,

Just been on the forum for the first time for a few days and noticed you 'were done' on 27th. How the hell are you? Sorry to write to you so publicly but for some reason cant contact members direc on this??? Looking forward to hearing from you. I'm due to have my bypass this Friday. Had my very, very, very last supper tonight. I had miscalculated when the liver shrinking soup and shakes start and it is in fact tomorrow, so was able to go and have a final banquet. Went for an all you can eat Indian buffet which was great but am so prepared for the journey ahead now.
Glad to hear you seem to be coping ok!!
xx:):)

How the devil are you??:wave_cry:

Hi Grom,

I'm great ta. I'm 11 days post op and mustnt complain at all. I dont feel so bloated up although I do tire easily. No pain and havent had, ever since waking up in the recovery room. Dont feel hungry although there is confusion about what hungry feels like?!?!? Dont know if you experienced this? My new feeling of fullness feels more like I've had a punch in my solar plexus. How long did you hold out on the liquids Grom. I have had mixed advice as to it being 2 or 3 weeks. Whilst I'm not hungry, I am keen to start new tastes and am tiring of the soup, water, tea, juice.

How about you? Hows it all going for you and are you yet onto 'normal' foods yet? How much are you able to manage?

Would like to hear from anyone else who is 3 - 6 weeks post bypass.

Speak soon xx:)

Claire i made 3 batches of soup yesterday in prep for my 2nd stage, and once pureed could not resist trying them, just a spoonful of each. Nawty i know but like you i want new tastes.

Hello you new losers! I hope it's all going well for you both.

Speaking of soup, I've just watched some lady on GMTV make the simplest soup evvah!

1 chopped onion
1 chopped garlic clove
1 pack of frozen peas
1ltr of water
seasoning &
a couple of mint leaves.

Gently fry onion & clove in low fat spray oil til just tender. Simmer for 15mins and then puree. Serve with a swirl of natural yoghurt on the top if you are that way inclined!

Apparently it's packed full of protein and fibre.

Sounds great for post-op?! :)

sure sounds like a great one when i start running low on the ones i have made.

good to hear things are moving forward for you, knowing when things are happening helps time pass that much easier

Hiya
like you I have had no pain whatsoever. When I first came round and had a feeling of having done too many sit ups but that didn't last long.
I did 2 weeks on liquids but didn't stick to just clear liquids I had a mixture of soups and milky ones as well as diluted fruit juices. I'm now on my second week of purees and it's going really well. I do struggle with the fullness thing I must admit. I also struggle with eating all the stuff my guidelines say I'm supposed to eat so I'm torn between making sure my body gets what it needs and not eating for the sake of it!! I have at least one protein shake a day so I make sure I'm getting adequate protein then try to make sure I have fruit and veg, but don't always manage many carbs, but that's probably not a bad thing. I see the dietitician next week so will check with her that I'm doing ok.
You sound like you're doing great
xx
