Can I ask......?

At my heaviest I was 21.10 stone. I then lost 3 stone on the weight management program and I was 18.8 on the day of my operation. When people ask how much I have lost I tell them 7 stone - but I guess at the start of my journey until now I have lost 10 stone.....What should I tell people?
7 stone....or 10?

I like you at 1st just told people what I'd lost since WLS, but it's not true, we've lost the weight so now I just tell everyone what I've lost in total.

Hell yeaa! deffo 10 stone, thats how much you have lost, doesnt matter how it was lost, just that it was x

I was 17.10 when I started and like you I lost 3 stone (I lost it on the Cambridge Diet) which I used as my pre-opp diet so was just 14.9 when I had my op. I always say that I have lost 6.5 stone which includes the Cambridge Diet loss so I see no reason why you can't say you lost 10 stone. Its all a loss and I see no reason to separate it out.

I would definitely say 10 stone - the initial weight loss was still as part of your surgery journey. I too have done that thing where i've said five since surgery but seven overall and god only knows why ?
As others have said you have done brilliantly and its a massive acheivement, whichever way it was done !!

Thanks guys - I did it today at the nurses office when she asked how much I had lost - I said 10 stone...I then went on to explain not all since the op - but its the first time I have said it lol

Sal, Your journey started the day you decided to do something about your weight, and not the surgery, so definitely 10.
