Cholesterol levels

Does anyone know if cholesterol levels reduce with weight loss or is this not necessarily so. Have been taking Simvastatin pre-op but can't take tablets for 4 weeks so not sure if I will need to go back on them or not.

Generally yes they do. Worth checking with your GP though with regards to stopping any meds etc.

Yes they do, well mine have. Mine were 5.3 pre op and are now at 4.5 so hopefully everyones the samexxx

not had mine tested althought it was normal before my op

hi had mine tested b4 it was 4.5 now its 4.4 but obviously it must depend on your intake if you were to still have lots of fatty foods it will be higher.

I was informed by my gp that it does lower when weight is reduced.
