hello all us losers everywhere but for this question in the north east im now having to buy clothes but dont want to go spend a fortune as still losing weight and michelle mentioned that there are catalogue shops in the north east where we can get new clothes at the fraction of the cost ,,, can anyone tell me where they are thanks xxx:rolleyes:

used to be a good one in byker.... years ago though. There is one in the galleries at Washington, one near the market in Southshields, one in the gates at Durham. You normally have to hit the shops at the time new catalogues are coming out, usually just after the sales to get the good bargains.

Alternatively there is ebay, very good quality, some new with tags for reasonable prices.

Hope this helps you. x

i love ebay

Car boot sales are a god sent
Jeans can be picked up for £1-£2 I have bought Jasper Conran, Next and Marks and Spencers.
I have found Jane Norman clothes for 50p just be prepared to rummage

There's an ex-Catalogue shop in Stockton's Castlegate centre.

There are such scrums for the clothes at our car boot sales. I think a lot of people buy them to sell on ebay, as you say you can get real bargains.

I have never been interested in clothes, just buying what I need in evans, bonmarche, or ebay. But maybe going down the sizes I will be in the scrum. Although I shouldn't need any for a few months and by that time the summer will be over and the car boot sales will have tailed off.

I have just noticed your time since surgery ticker Wendy, that is such a good idea as you forget and it will get harder to work out the time. Can I pinch your idea please?!

Course you can pinch the idea hun

The best thing to do with car boot sales is buy clothes that are too small ready to shrink into. Jeans are a safe bet. as I have lost count of the dresses and tops that I haven't liked or don't look right when they do fit :D
It is also good to get out in the fresh air and all that walking and bending is fab exercise

Thanks re the tracker, I shall make one later.

And also the planning ahead of buying now for later, when the boot sales aren't on. Do'h Didn't think of that one - its not like you can try them on either, so if they don't fit, they don't fit sell them on.

I haven't worn jeans for probably 15 years. I have been in the elasticated waist stretch variety of jeans - the sort that doesn't stop you getting bigger, they go with the flow!

I love Asda, Primark, H&M, Tesco (not as much), Matalan... I also love charity shops, there is no stigma attached to them now :)

But the best lot of clothes i ever had, some of which fit me now, was a massive bag off FREECYCLE, for those not in the know it's a website for local areas (as in mine is chippenham freecycle) and you advertise wanted/offered items which are no longer any use to me but still have a good life/usage left in them. People email and you give it to who you choose. No costs incurred. Had some cracking stuff for work in it :) xxx
