Can I ask the people who have lost a large amount of weight how their new clothes fit? Is there anything that the cant wear because of how the skin looks underneath? X

I have to wear T-shirts and formal shirts a little bigger than I really need but other than that it's ok. That's why now I'll only wear Paul Smith or Ted Baker formal shirts because even though they are really slim fitting if I get a 15 inch neck they fit great. If I bought 14 inch on cheaper shirts would still be too big. Well that's my excuse anyway LOL

Well i haven't really found it a problem yet i have lost 8 stone now since the very start am keepn the exercise goin but i have always had a smaller top half, bigger thighs n hips the bottom has gone down but guna have to be tops with sleeves for summer vest tops guna b a nono with the bingo wings they won't tighten up any further. I think it may be the lower stomach (apron) that maybe noticeable with tight fitting dresses or skirts for ladies etc. better living with that than the way we were before xx

Thanks peeps! Well done on your 8 stone I can only hope I will lose that much too xx

You will lose it I can promise that, its still hard work and determination but you can do it xx

Thanks I'm doing terribly with the pre-op I wish the surgeon didn't tell me I only had to do it for a week for the op and two weeks just for good practise. My dads anniversary of deaths coming up and my surgery is a day before it really playing on my mind making me want to eat .. And I am :S still got 12 days do hoping to turn it round tomorrow :) xx

I did the pre op for a week and found it the hardest thing. I had no energy and felt irritable all the time, in the end I had to take sugar in my coffee. I felt so bad about it, but my surgeon did the op with absolutely no worries whatsoever. I wouldn't worry too much about the pre op, unless they weigh you before the op. ?

my weight has always been all over.. i dont like my bingo wings so im gonna invest in some nice summer tops which cover the top bit of my arms.... and one day if im brave enough to wear a dress.. then i will get some of thetight fitted underwear to hold the loose bits in xx... well thats the plan xx i also am not worried about loose skin... as i would rather have that rather than the fat i was carrying around xxx

I find jeans and trousers difficult to get a proper fit. I have to get a bigger size to accommodate the skin, but then they don't fit on the waist. I don't have a bottom any more (it's behind my knees!) so nothing fits properly there either.

Dresses are fine, except I feel self conscious in anything that clings to my tummy as I can see the skin folds underneath.

Low rise trousers & short sleeved tops are to tight in my new size 10's unless the tops are t-shirt type. But wouldn't swap the slight challenges of now for the multiple ones of old again.

I have lost just over 6stone and find not to much worry with my bottom half at the mow but my arms are bad I can wear 20-22 tops but it is tight on my arms so like 22-24 just so you can't see how bad my wings are. I won't be in vets tops again that is for sure.

I don't wear trousers so can't comment on their fit but I can wear quite tight fitting dresses, tops and skirts without a problem. I have a very small stomach apron, nothing that really shows, but my upper arms are a bit floppy. However as I don't show my upper arms it's not a problem. I fitted nicely into that River Island dress I've been talking about, and for the first time in my life, my youngest daughter, who is 29, asked to try on something I had bought for myself!! She LOVED that dress and would borrow it!! She has agreed that it's a VERY small size 14, even she, who's slimmer than I am, couldn't have taken a smaller size. I'll try and get a pic of me in it asap.

only the best karlos i'll tell the missus i'm only wearing named labels cos they look better on, watch this space or her face:)

It's true though LOL the better the quality of the garment and designer the better the fit. They also last for years however I wouldn't spend this kind of money on clothes until you reach a stable platform, as in the losing stage they are to big too soon but once you are at goal go for it. I once bought a suit for a funeral from Slaters, it was beautiful and I wore it for the funeral then was going to save it for a seniors managers meeting in three weeks. Three weeks later it was two sizes too big and looked like a clown suit :( £150 quid down the drain :D

These days I struggle to buy cheaper suits because the differential between most chest to waist sizes is six inches, even Ted Baker's 40 inch chest jackets come usually with 34 inch waist kecks and Paul Smiths come with 32 inch waist, but I need 30 inch waist. I can buy these brands though as they can be bought separately from John Lewis. They are so lovely and will outlast me LOL :D:D

Yes I am, having problems with my bingo wings, think i will only be able to wear vest tops and that type of drees with a shrug on or t shirts now they are baggy and when I caught site of thm in the miorror yesterday they looked all creased and horrible they are going to have to be hid away and only seen in my garden and home, wonder what will be like when I go swimming when I finally get away on holiday hopefully sometime this year. I know just how you feel. x

Perhaps you can try Monsoon (if you go towards the end of the sale you get some very good items 70% off), Dorothy perkins and Newlook inspire brand. I found those to fit well when I was around your size.

Hope this helps
