I agree with Bally, you need an appointment with a bariatric surgeon who will (should!) do a really thorough assessment of you and make a recommendation. My advice would then be not to contradict it, if you want your journey to have the best possible outcome. They really do know what is best. Good luck x
Hello and welcome! As recommended above, do the research, be honest with yourself about your eating habits and issues, and a good provider will work with you to choose the best surgery for you.
Good luck!
Hi and welcome.
You definitely need to research and speak to a surgeon and/or specialist dietitian. I began thinking I'd definitely have a band but after going to the seminar and getting some information from the surgeon I changed my mind and now think a bypass would be better.
Once you speak to your hospital I'm sure it will become clearer.
Good luck x
Hello and welcome Have you been accepted for surgery?
My consultant told me people who struggle with portion size do better with a band and people with a sweet tooth do better with a bypass. He worked out what would best for me by looking at a week long food diary and decided on a bypass??
Im not saying thats guna be the same for everyone though!
I was given in depth paperwork about the band, bypass & sleeve. You could ask if they have anything like that to read through to aid your decision?
Good luck with whatever you choose!
