Confused

My doctor referred me for a Gastric Band 3 weeks ago and I was just wondering how long it would take to actually hear anything, and if anyone else from Nottingham has had the op and where they had it done? My GP wasn't very helpful in giving me this information so i'm abit confused as to what I am waiting for. Hope someone can help.
