Now that I have decided to go down the private route as I am not eligible under the NHS I would like to know what I can expect to happen at my first private consultation.

Could Mr Somers say no or will the colour of my money pretty much guarantee an op?

If he thinks that surgery would be too dangerous or that you are not emotionally stable enough etc then yes, he could. Rare though, like you said, the colour of money is a great persuader!

Self-funding will not guarantee the op. Mr Somers will offer you surgery if it is appropriate for you and safe. He will review your eating history and health issues and then discuss the options with you. Good luck.
