I am 8 weeks today post op, atm for me food really doesnt hold much interest, today was my first day I'm allowed *normal* food ie not pureed or soft/mushy food, I had melon for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch, while the goings good and I'm not interested in food I'm making good choices.

My tastes have really changed post op I used to be a real coke head (the fizzy stuff!!) and thats 1 thing I really thought I'd miss, but I can honestly say I've not missed it one bit. My provider says I can have alcohol and pre-op I used to really enjoy a voddie but now I don't want to waste the calories, but I'm sure I will have a few tipples in the future.

Head hunger and cravings are still there post op. You need to use your willpower to not give in. Or you can try them and see if they make you dump. If you do, it'll put you off eating them again lol. All providers have different recommendations regarding alcohol. Mine advised no booze for 12 months. Fizzy is a no no post op, so if I were you I'd start weaning yourself off Pepsi max now. It'll make it slightly easier than going cold turkey post op :)

Each provider is different. Mine is fine with fizzy in moderation after about 6 weeks. I just let it go a bit flatter first if I want it. So would pour into a glass rather than in a can. I poured a diet ginger beer earlier and ended up drinking it about 2hrs later as I nipped out and forgot about it.

It doesn't cause me any discomfort and I enjoy it occasionally. Same with alcohol though I've had some discomfort so happy to avoid again for a while. With any of this it might be that you personally won't feel ok with it afterwards too.

Any fizzy is a no go for me - it bloody hurts!
