Crispbreads and bread sticks

My dietician didn't mention anything about being able to have these at this stage. I just read it in Return To Slender.

So I despatched hubby to Asda. Just had crispbread (the light ones - NOT ryveta) with low fat pate. Oh my god it was so tasty and went down no problem. Got breadsticks too - love them!

Sounds nice, I've been craving pate!

I've just ordered that book so hopefully it'll be here in a few days.

That sounds great Lucy and Karen.. I love water biscuits and either pate or low fat spreading cheese... they would take some chewing for you too... water biscuits are low in calories xxx

You should try Ryvita Thins they do them in sweet chilli flavour too.

Lovely spread with Laughing Cow Low fat triangles.

omg I hadnt thought of pate, its going on shopping list now.

What about Humous, very healthy.:):)

I've gone off hummous since op, along with smoked fish and fish fillets in crumbs. But can still eat the odd fish finger and cod in parsley sauce, whats that all about lol

I know I go off things I have to force myself with yoghurt after the milk diet.:):)

what is hummous, and what does it taste like, ive heard of a lot of ppl who like it, but for some reason, its never appealed to me, dont know why though

humous - definition of humous by the Free Online Dictionary ...

Made mainly from chick peas which are good for you and lemon, an Israeli origin, humous is used in pita breads etc...

It's good Dawn and good for you... it's a thick type of paste consitency, and can be found in the deli counters in supermarkets... its been around for a few years and I eat a lot of it. xxx

it is basically chick peas blizts in a blender with some olive oil and seasoning...... I think. You can buy it in tubs ready made.

Thats why it is good for you because it is low fat protein.

Saying that I havnt got round to having it myself, but keep telling myself I should..... LOL

Wow Lucy it is... and I sometimes have them on a stick with a pineapple cube when visitors come... you are making me soooo hungry! xxx

Guess what me and the OH bought some amplyfying hearing aids - buy one get one free and we are sitting here like a pair of geriatrics watchin Simply Red.

Only thing is when you eat a crispbread, all you can hear is crunch, crunch, crunch.:):553:

mmmwhat does it taste like, is it a strong taste, or bland. ive tried cous cous, a couple of times, once i liked it, and once i didnt, so i think it depended on what you flavoured it with.

I love Simply Red too Mary, got Mick on here too...

Dawn, you could be imaginative with humous... I'm a fan of quinoa, but use pineapple and celery in that, it's really healthy...

Try a plain one and add what you like is the best way... but I can eat most of them...

Love and hugs xxx

Karen be careful with crispbreads etc. I spoke to my dietician this week and she said NO crispbreads, melba toasts etc until 12 weeks post-op!

Maybe you should check with your dietician first? I do know every provider is different of course, but it seems very early day for you to be eating stuff like that?

Hummus is nice and a acquired taste. I like it with roasted red pepper in....

I just got my Return to Slender book and can't wait to do something. There is a broad bean dip in there which might sound yuk but i love broad beans so it could be good :) xx
